Locked Groove - Rooted

Eagerly awaited debut of deeper TechnoHouse from Hotflush's Belgian wunderkind, Locked Groove. Demand for a release has been growing ever since Scuba dropped Locked's 'Drowning' on last years DJ-Kicks mix, and it appears here alongside two brand new, and rather excellent productions. It's really all about the A-side 'Rooted', coming off like an amalgam of early Carl Craig productions, melding 'Hyperprism'-esque sub-bassline with 'Jam The Box' style filters but updated with a software-buttered 2012 sleekness. Flipside features the well-known 'Drowning', a Berghain-primed jacker crafted with an innovative use of field recordings, while 'Change' switches tack to a slower tempo, finding the sweetspot between thick, driving Techno and Deep House sensuality.
