Engl e530 - Test 3

Demoing the Engl e530.

Chain: LTD DV8-R with Seymour Duncan JB pickup --- SD-1 --- Engl e530 --- Framus Dragon 412st

Again using the Engl's onboard poweramp. I have the drive on the lead channel set to just below 11 o'clock and there's still plenty of gain

@archenemyowns I was using the output on the front - I think it's switchable between cab and headphone output.

with NOTHING but the E530 straight to the cab?!

a good tube poweramp is pretty pricey but this along with recabinet would be a sick recording setup

@MarvinMoshaka This video has an SD-1 boosting, but other than that, yeah - DV8-r, e530, Framus Dragon.

I just picked up a Basson 4x12, so I'll do a video or two using that cab at some point.

I must say, do your research if you wanna use this solely for DI recording

thanks for the quick reply. I think your vids are some of the best representing the engl tone. these vids definately sold me. I play a c7 hellraiser through a vetta2 into a gflex 2x12. I'm getting rid of the vetta soon. I want to try to find a cheap tube power amp to go with it. Maybe the carvin ts100 or an old peavey. thanks again for the vids

@ykcirj Glad I could help! I think my E530 Test 1 video is the most like the tone I'm hearing in person. I'm looking forward to getting a tube poweramp, looking at either a Marshall EL34 or a Mesa

@epicswifty may i ask what speakers are in that cab? They make you sound like an octave lower than the original song if its the same tuning. Makes me sick with jelaousy! Oooo that engl aftertaste get it into ya!

sound here is way better than in test 1.. i was worried there ahah, good job with eq

dude...THANK YOU for these vids showcasing the e530...ive been pricing engl invaders, bogner uberschalls, diezel herberts, framus cobras...you get the idea...and this preamp with any run of the mill power amp would give me the killer tone i would love at a fraction of the cost..fucking killer!!

well i would get a poweramp of some sort down the line to use it live aswell

yeah, i'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to recording and whatnot so no worries there :]
