Sometimes the best ideas come when you walk away from a project. After being stumpped 5 times I finally got it. The trick was to squeeze the drive train and steering through the center by using an open center 16 tooth gear.

  • sure! check out my syncro drive automatic. Its basically a larger version

  • Wow, that's pretty cool. Do you ever incorporate these designs of yours into mindstorms?

  • I don't like using sensors or computers in any way. Only gears.

  • Looks awesome!

  • this is a very nice design

  • can you please post building instructions, because i'm planning on building a omni directional vehicle, and this made it a lot easier!

  • you're crazy! awesome stuff though. you should really play around with the nxt. it's sick

  • I'm not saying simplify your designs with a computer (I'm a subscriber, I've seen a lot of your work), I'm just saying that the syncro-drive would make a great base for a robot. Perhaps something that would navigate mazes.
