The "solution" always involves TAKING MONEY and TAKING POWER from the people. It is always sensationalized. It is always rushed. Half of the bills are never read.

Obviously the best thing would have been to avoid it at the very beginning and NOT deregulate these industries but then that would have required a competent government, and thats one thing we most certainly did NOT have!

Look at the big picture. Deregulation caused massive corruption and huge debt by companies "too big to fail"
Options: Allow them to fail and a global economic ice age would have occurred unlike anything seen before. Unemployment in the 50-70 % range, hunger, crime, etc.
OR
Have a govt that can foresee this end and step in to stop it. Sure, takes some investment upfront that no ones happy about but at least its better than the alternative.
