second of all, i also have to say that anyone who thinks people will ever stop seeking altered states of consciousnes are delusional as well. it is part of human nature - like a child spinning to get dizzy. people do it for different reasons. not everyone does them because they think they will "solve their problems." there's plenty of people who just do it because, well, it's fun. whether or not they do it responsibly is something you cannot control. it will never be controlled.

first of all, you just claimed to know my outlook on the subject. you also just stated a "truth" that really doesnt even make sense. anyone who thinks drugs will solve their problems is obviously delusional. this inlcudes people taking xanax or many of the other overly-prescribed pharmaceutical drugs on the market. it's a temporary solution for a deeper problem. second of all, it is indeed a tragedy that people die because other people are stupid enough to drive when they shouldnt.

@defsownds Yeah, and more then half of them are caused by excessive alcohol consumption. The truth would be for you and the rest of us to stop living in delusion that taking drugs, such as acid and ecstasy is going to solve your life's problems - guess what, it won't. The only ramification would be to realize why you're taking in drugs in the first place; because you're depressed and can't deal with problems without 'alteration'. I'm not sure who you're trying to convince, except for yourself.

your point is invalid and obviously based on a biased subjective perspective. the fact of the matter is that it is any individual's choice -and birthright- to put whatever they desire into their body regardless of the ramifications. to deny this truth is to deny yourself your own autonomy, and that is the sad reality of today's world.
