@pythonfan001 In the Peter and the Starcatchers series, his name was the Black Mustache (or Black Stache). For obvious reasons.

wow you've made me look at it a different way, it is so tragic....

Oh... You make me wanna read it again :) It's been so long and I enjoyed reading it but I never really got into depth of it

There's something truly remarkable out what is written within that book. It's truly fantastic. Finding Neverland is an incredible movie too!!!

Wow, I definitely need to read this now. Like you Matt, I've seen just about every visual adaptation available but never read the book. I always meant to but never have and now I most certainly have to for real this time! :)

be where you go if you die as a child....

YOU HAVE OLOGY BOOKS!!! AWESOME!!!
Also I really love the Peter Pan story, although I have not read it yet I have listened to an audiobook which I think was unabridged.
I think the best visual adaption was the 2003 Universal film.
Even my German cousin loved it and she couldn't understand it! (But I got the film in German for her, so all was well)
Also if I remember correctly J.M Barrie based Peter Pan on his brother who died as a child and Neverland is supposed to ...continued....

What was Captain Hook's name before he lost his hand? Does it ever say?
this is my favorite book of all time.

@strengthofwill I figure most people know the ending, and if they don't, it's not that hard to figure out.

Wow, this was a great review. I've never read the book either but you really went into it. I've only seen the animated movie, I think a tv special once and the live Kathy Rigby show on broadway. I knew the book had darker undertones but you really laid them out. Childhood definitely has that duality. When you're little, you mostly want things for yourself and only really think about yourself but you can also be selfless and care about everyone but yourself. Rock on Matt!

@peteisgod66 The Kathy Rigby show is the one visual adaptation I've not seen.
I love Barrie's perception of childhood. It doesn't sugarcoat things at all, like a lot of children's novels are prone to do. I always have to laugh when someone talks about how honest and innocent kids are. I'm like, "You haven't spent much time with kids, have you?"
