Way to take a piss on the fans.
Yep. WB pushed back the Half-Blood Prince release to July 2009, even though it has been in post-production since February. They are going to be sitting on a finished product for 11 months.
WB President Alan Horn was quoted by the BBC as saying, "I've seen the movie. It is fabulous. We would have perfectly been able to have it out in November." Let's call a spade a spade, shall we? They are afraid of their competition for the holiday movie release (AKA: TWILIGHT), and in order to line their pockets with more cash, they decided to take a full piss on us all and release it during the summer because there is no competition, and they can have a "tent pole release" meaning they will make the most money.
I, personally, will not be seeing this movie opening weekend. Probably won't be seeing it the next weekend either.
That's right. I'm boycotting.
What about those who have already purchased their plane tickets for the November premier screening? What about the video game being released in November--are they pushing that back too? They have never allowed the video game to precede the film by this much.
In other words--WHAT ABOUT US, THE FANS, WHO HAVE PUT ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF CASH IN YOUR POCKETS BECAUSE WE PURCHASED WHAT YOU HAVE PRODUCED OVER THE YEARS?
Thanks for the bend-over, WB. You thankless corporate stingy-asses.
