@GatoradeIsNotJuice That seems rather ignorant of you to say, seeing as you don't have much knowledge of the Gamelan. It'd be foolish of me to ask you to "look deeper", but this music isn't random noise only appreciated by pretentious twits who want to seem cultured, but traditional music. If it doesn't sound pretty to your ears, then that's fine, but accusing people who like the Gamelan as dumb gits latching on to some random banging sounds for being called art is quite presumptive of you.

I watch this because it's my homework......

Javanese Gamelan is just like some works of famous art... something a third grader could probably do just as easily, but something that gets attention because it's called "art". while I do not dispute that some people may enjoy this quite a bit, it takes no musical knowledge or skill whatsoever. It seems like each player is playing on their own accord, and not even playing together. For those that suggest I 'look deeper', my response is, with good music, you don't have to.
buzzing bees..

Gamelan has a strangely meditative quality. It's very nice if you let yourself sink into it.

@capucinno85 Bonang is truly my favorite instrument within the ensemble (or instrument within the instrument, depending on your point of view).
it's not out of tune, gamelan is using a differrent scale than that of a western music scale. may sound out of tune to some, but not to people living the culture of the nusantara.
