@Bournetolive Thanks for your thoughts but I am familiar with all you've mentioned, I'm just a slight bit muddled on what you want to say. I'm not sure if you are attempting to engage in a conversation or are just making reference to things without making a point about anything particularly. Theravadin/Mahayana/Vajrayana "this school is better than that" could be a discussion itself but pointing out it's existence in reality makes no point except to say that the dynamic exists. What is the point

I recommend you read it or at least get a basic gist of it from Wikipedia. Also, search for videos about Theravada Buddhists criticizing Mahayana Buddhism. I think this will be very enlightening. It may also explain why it was Muslims who destroyed Nalanda and caused the general decline and disappearance of Buddhism from the Indian subcontinent.

My friend - have you ever heard of a Buddhist work that can be DIRECTLY TRACED to the Lord Buddha himself called the Kalama Sutta? I recommend that you read it. Pitting one teacher against the other shows a horrible misunderstanding not only of Buddhist practice in general but of Vajrayana practice and the Guru relationship. The Dalai Lama no longer practices Dorje Shugden and has asked HIS FOLLOWERS to do the same. It's pretty simple really. but no one can promise that the spiritual path doesn't have it's dangers. There's tons of room for misunderstanding and confusion. If my teacher told me to stop my practice tomorrow, I'd simply do it.
