You're so right.. it was the uncle gus show, but he was "on vacation." This guy is Steve Thomas, but the show was still Uncle Gus.

re: peterjake5 and dbsirl. This is not a video of uncle gus, it was his fill in host. Uncle Gus was my grandfather. He was never "indicted on JonBenet related charges."...absolutley rediculous. At the time of your comment he had been passed away for nearly 2 years. Please research your information before making such horrible comments. To all other comments, WMUR broadcasted live. Only videos out there are ones that other parents made with home cameras.

Yeah, I remember that fat guy in the fishing hat, too---my brother was on the Uncle Gus show. Be nice if some Uncle Gus with Uncle Gus turned up....I don't think the producers or station brass w/a lot of these old kiddie shows cared much about preservation....

Wow, talk about time travel!! I remember this show from my very early childhood. I was born and raised in VT and we only recieved WMUR ch. 9 were we lived. I remember the original Uncle Gus, he also did the weather reports on the evening news. Then Steve Thomas took over. I remember the audience at one time was much larger. I was never in the audience, but my sister was given a shout out on her birthday, she is 3 years older than me. Nostalgia, got to love it, thank you, i wish there were more!!

Can you give us an idea of when this was recorded? I remeber Uncle Gus for the most part in black and white. Channel 9 seemed to be the last station not broadcasting in color. BTW, wasn't Steve Thomas also Ronald MacDonald locally?

I'd like to see not only more of Uncle Gus, WITH Uncle Gus, but WMUR's Santa Claus show, (who I suspect was Uncle Gus!
