This song is one of my all time favorites...few vocalists can match this...and she was just a teenager!! Back then a singer had to actually sing...not like now where they Auto-Tune everyone and get them on pitch and sounding like robots!! LOL!!

Why is this record so damn good?

1) Evelyn's gritty, 17-years-old-going-on-hard-lif­e-age 40 vocals.

2) The contrast of thereforesaid with sweet, "I'm-a-virgin-and-I-don't-wan'­t-to-f*ck-up" lyrics.

3) Producer T. Life's kick-butt arrangement of a full orchestra that complimented Evelyn without overwhelming her, while maintaining a very R&B feel.

Does anyone know the name of the instrument that's used to create that "handclap" sound? I don't think it's a real handclap. It must be piece of a drum or something.
