Meat the Truth is a high-profile documentary, presented by MP Marianne Thieme (leader of the Dutch party for the Animals), which forms an addendum to earlier films on climate change. Although such films have succeeded in drawing public attention to the issue of global warming, they have repeatedly ignored one of the most important causes of climate change: the intensive livestock production. Meat the Truth draws attention to this by demonstrating that livestock farming generates more greenhouse gas emissions worldwide than all cars, lorries, trains, boats and planes added together. The calculations used in the film derive from and have been validated by the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the UN (FAO), the World Watch Institute, the Institute for Environmental Studies of the Free University Amsterdam and numerous other authoritative sources. 'Meat the Truth' is presented by Marianne Thieme, leader of the Dutch Party for the Animals. A range of international celebrities, such as Pamela Anderson, Bill Maher, James Cromwell, Emily Deschanel, Tony Denison, Esai Morales, Megan Blake, Debra Wilson Skelton, Elaine Hendrix, Kate Flannery, Carol Leifer, Joy Lauren, Hal Sparks, Constance Marie, Kristina Klebe, Skyler Gisondo, Graham Patrick Martin, Greg Vaughan and Touriya Haoud Vaughan, participated in the making of the international version of the film.

  • Don't get it twisted my friend. The global warming hoax does not erase the facts showed in the video. The mass production and consumption of chemically and genetically altered meat is not good for the environment, your health or your colon. This animals don't eat green healthy grass. They eat GMO pesticide sprayed corn.

  • Meat-eating is on the rise in Egypt, despite rising prices and calls for boycotting red meat. A poll published earlier this year by the Information and Decision Support Center of the Egyptian Cabinet revealed that the consumption of red meat is increasingly in dramatic fashion.

“It is our duty to eat meat and we know it is healthy for us to do so,” said Omar Tarek, a father of three while standing in line at one of Cairo’s supermarkets

  • Yeah you go Bill Maher.

  • This seems like it's all ripped off from Lappe's "Diet for a Small Planet." She better have gotten paid.

  • "Spartins, tonight we dine on meat"

  • love the children ^_^

but a vegatarian on a bike is better .. :)

  • And...factory farming is one of the most cruel markets there is. It is hard to eat something that has been tortured ... you can see here on PETA and other foundations.

  • Humans don't need meat, all the nutrients the body needs can be found in non-animal sources. Therefore it's immoral and unnecessary to slaughter billions of animals every year for food. This simple fact should be enough for anyone to go meat-free or even better, vegan. But when most people come to this point of the facts, they simply ignore it. Most humans are selfish, greedy, immoral and undisciplined. They won't give up a little bit of taste, even if people are dying for it. Which they are.

  • OK so we become vegetarians who give up their cars, use wood burning stoves and get our energy from the wind. This sounds like the dark ages to me! Meanwhile the Sun enters a grand minimum and every levels of the atmosphere is cooling along with the oceans. Look forward to abrupt cooling in winters to come.

  • one more reason to not eat meat: "earthlings"

    watch?v=ce4DJh-L7Ys

  • there's no point arguing over percentage points -they're ALL high! ALL of it has to change in order to reach sustainability. factory-farms are just disgusting; cruel; un-healthy environments & should be abolished. we need to go back to small-scale local farming. we have the technology to run cars on water! look up stanley meyer. this technology is being suppressed by the oil industry. our corrupt governments are just lackey whores for the corporate machine. this needs to change, or nothing will.
