Just a few planes from directly below as they come in to land at Luton Airport (UK). This was recorded on the second of March 2009 (...I think), in the morning, so we didn't have the issues of light which we had in my previous video of planes flying overhead. I'm not sure we were as close vertically as we were in my previous video
( http://youtube.co.uk/watch?v=lt-iVd_NPdY&fmt=18 ),
but the fact that this one is in HD hopefully makes up for it.

  • This fidelity is great, what kind of camera and post processing did you use?

  • Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

The camera's a Sony HDR-SR12E. Apart from deinterlacing in TMPGEnc 4, I didn't do any post-processing (I just threw the clips together in a hurry on Premiere).

  • what was the whole point of this

  • Well, you see, not everyone lives near an airport, and some people get a kind of thrill from watching such a massive machine fly above them so close to them. Other people more specifically into planes like trying to work out exactly what plane (model? I can't think of the right word) is in the picture, and I guess this is easier to do in HD.

    However...

ALL of my videos, without exception, are simply my experiences or creations which I am offering to share with people. Nothing more.

  • You must have a lot of free time

  • What makes you say that?

  • you know if you go to the end of that road and turn right keep going it takes up to the runway! best spot ever!

  • Spent many a happy hour there. 20 odd years ago, those approach lights were surrounded by a small wood. Trees now all gone sadly.
