  • That's right there's some footage that i saw vagely about a year ago where Dick Cheney is addressing some suits in the mid 90's about the very same issue... what would happen after Hussein is gone and he came out with all these arguments that in fact looked very accurate to me because that's what is currently happening in Iraq. The question is.. What happened to that Dick Cheney back in the 90'?

  • i think US policy was all wrong all the way down the line, from government to pentagon to US representatives in Iraq...so everyone should see the light now//

soldiers risk life and limb every day, it isnt a ball of cherries for them in iraq right now

  • they definitely overshot the mark, with their operations in Iraq.

the whole foreign policy was off the mark that will leave a black mark in US modern warefare calculation

  • i cant believe bush didnt read the executive report. he was simply futzing around..

that all cost many soldiers' lives

a normal president would fling into the current situation and handled all those problems!

bush just farmed out his responsiblities to others and had to get busy in playing golf and riding horses

  • I think the point of all this is Iraq is the mess it is because thats the way it was supposed to be. We love to kid ourselves and make fun of the "incompetent" politicians and policy makers. Fact is, most these folks are a lot smarter than you or I. And they have a lot more smart people working for them. These guys knew what would happen - that's the point. As a matter of fact, you could say that any place they could have screwed up they did. You think that's an accident? They're criminals!

  • Absolutely right. We've been in the business of war for 200 years. We're, by far, the world's largest arms supplier. Instability is fomented world-wide by our spy agencies for the sole purpose of creating new markets to sell our weapons systems. And, unfortunately, we're good at it.

  • Mind you, despite me not being an american, i'll have you know that for one GWB was note put in place by the majority of american votes, further more, as it is mentioned constatly, it is in fact NOT the american people, it is that small group doing such.

If you find the need to point fingers, put it in the right direction.

  • Perhaps it was intentional - no Iraqi army to help keep peace? Well, we better pay contractors to do the work. No Iraqi infrastructure? We better bring in enormo-corporations to take over. No oil is pumping? I guess we can raise prices on the barrel. It is all very profitable for big business.

  • It was an illuminating and horrifying film. Can't help but think the occupation was intentionally f*ed up. Jay Garner and his people were doing a great job given the incredible constraints - so naturally they were replaced and Bremer comes in - and was beyond incompetent.

  • At what point will the American people say ENOUGH!? These are facts. I have yet to see the documentary but I have paid enough attention to the people featured in it to think we have all been hoodwinked. Again at what point will we all scream ENOUGH GEORGE W!?
