surely a good fireman would have stepped in to assist the trainee before the driver started critisising him? i found it hard to get a round or two up front when i first started as a trainee but never had a driver step in!

i know the feeling! Espeacily on this loco when i started out, tryin to get coal up the front (9ft) is quite difficult when you start out. Luckly those days are behind me :D

Hehe, there's no worse feeling as a trainee fireman than having the shovel taken off you to correct a mistake you're making :D
