Well, that wasn't very hard. Tune to the right midi channel and play the right notes, C1 C#1 D1 Fb1 by default (as per my RM1x) sequencer. This will do the trick until I get hold of a proper hardware sampler.

Samples add a lot, and everybody should have one. Since I just got a more ergonomically friendly desk, I should get some proper music up on the tube soon.

The four percussion samples were downloaded from http://www.freesound.org/ , specifically a sound pack called Altermark 808 or something similar. The camera had one muff of an $8 Philips headphone close to its internal microphone to record the sound.

The 2LiveCrew cut is straight off their Live in Phoenix LP, and the "Surprise..", I forget where I got that. Sounds like it's from the tv series Dexter.

  • I've hooked up my kp3 to another sequencer and I'm trying to sequence my button presses of the kp3 to the other sequencer, I know I've hooked it up correctly midi wise cause when i play back my sequecer

the kp3s bank buttons play the samples but for some reason they don't trigger as I played them, like if I trigger a sample every 16th note they only trigger every whole note please give me exact steps to make this happen correctly been rackin my brain with the manual but it doesn't say much.

  • I've spent a few weeks trying to figure this case out (even got a Roland A880 8x8 midi splitter to make it easier) but no luck. Looks like the KP3's midi implementation is that limited.

In my setup I'm using it for long and very high quality samples, I let my two racked samplers do percussion and pads.

  • Similar question to ccandrew11..... I'd like to record samples on the kp3, then trigger those samples using an external drum trigger through an Alesis d4 drum module.....is it possible?...

  • too bad Fb is really E

  • is it possible to trigger the banks like this by using an electronic kit?

  • FACE DOWN ASS UP, THAT'S THE WAY

    WE LIKE TO FUCK!!

  • @Mamiya645 kp3 midi out works perfectly well for me i capture button presses and pad jestures to my mpc then use the kp3 as an effects module when rendering tracks to the PC. Make sure everything is correctly configered on the kp3 using editor on your computer.

  • sick

  • finally figured it out for all of those who wondered why they weren't able to do this, you have to have your samples on the kp3 in one shot mode (red) you cannot do it in loopmode

  • FASTER!!!!!!!!
