I don't know why this was such a hard video for me. This is the Davis High School Jazz Choir one of the years when David was in it. In the middle of the video there is a point where all the guys are in a pyramid, the girls are stretched out across the stage and David is in the middle dancing solo. I just lost it. It's not that I haven't seen video of him since he died, but for some reason this one brief segment really got to me.

  • Is this from '91? I swear I can hear Allissa Riesner's and Brett Chulada's voice.

  • Good ear. I didn't know what year it was, but Brett Chulada is in that group.

  • Hi Bev and Family - Thanks for posting this video. I was in the DHS Jazz Choir with David all those years ago. We had so much fun that year travelling to New Orleans and performing on Bourbon Street. I was saddened to hear of David's death and am so sorry for your loss. I remember David as sweet, funny and talented - and an occasional royal pain the rump! He was so good he could cut class time after time, walk into the practice room and still trump us all musically. He is missed .... Alison

  • Thanks for the note, Alison. I think you characterized him perfectly: sweet, funny, talented, and an occasional royal pain in the rump. We miss him very much...and we miss Paul (who died 3 years later) too!

  • Wonderful video and performance! I, Erica Washington, was blessed to be in the Jazz Choir in 1983. Please tell me who David is and who Paul is that passed away. My prayers are with you.

  • Bev - I'm so sorry about Paul as well. I idolized him as a youngster, watching him performing on the stage. Those were the Golden Years of Brunelle and Company, no? Mazel tov about Jeri - my mom sent me the newspaper announcement. (She was the one I REALLY idolized! :) ) -Alison

  • I think you are perfect!!

  • i'm sorry for your loss
