フェラーリでありながらフェラーリを名乗らなかったディーノ。24歳の若さで夭逝（ようせい）したエンツォ・フェラーリ最愛の息子の名を冠したディーノ206GTは67年­にデリバリーが開始されている。V6、2Lとフェラーリにしては小排気量のエンジンを搭載した206GTはわずか150台ほどしか生産されず、やはりV6の2.4Lを搭載­するディーノ246GTへとバトンタッチ。246GTは後にタルガトップのGTSを加えて3700台ほど生産されたが、貴重なフェラーリであることに変わりはない。

ピニンファリーナがデザインしたボディは、小ぶりながら流麗なラインでまとめられ、今も最高のフェラーリと称賛する人も少なくない。サイズは全長4240mm、全幅170­0mm、全高1140mmだが、わずかに1700mmを切っていたせいか日本では5ナンバー登録となった206GTもある。ミッドに積まれたエンジンを覆うフードにはダク­トホールが2列開けられているが、その数は246GTの7個×2列に対し、206GTでは6個×2列となっている。

エンジンはフィアット製のV6にウェーバー製のダウンドラフトキャブレターを3連装し、246GTは最高出力が195ps、最大トルクは22.9kg-m。V8やV12を­積むフェラーリに比べると小さい数値だが、246GTで1080kgという軽さも手伝い、最高速度は240km／hに達する。サスペンションは4輪ダブルウイッシュボーン­とフェラーリの公式を守り、ライトウェイト・スポーツならではのフットワークでワインディングを楽しめる仕上がりだ。

ディーノというとフィアット ディーノを思い浮かべる人もいると思うが、これはフィアットがディーノ246GTと同じエンジンを搭載して世に出したFRスポーツだからだ。ちなみにディーノ206GT／­246GTにはフェラーリの紋章である跳ね馬も、フェラーリのエンブレムも付いていない。その後ディーノの名は73年のパリサロンに登場したV8搭載のディーノ308GT­4へ受け継がれ、ヒット作となった308GTB／GTSの登場へとつながっていく。

There is nothing wrong with putting an infotainment system on a classic. Just make sure it's not visible as much as possible. Maybe make it kind of hidden like the iDrive System in the Rolls Royce Phantom where the clock would swivel and reveal the navigation screen.

I think an old Mcintosh or a classic Nakamichi would be better suited for the car but that's just me.
