CBO: 2010 budget deficit falls to $1.35 Trillion
Today

This morning, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released the 2010 Budget & Economic Outlook which forecasted a $1.35 trillion budget deficit. The report predicts a slow economic recovery and continued high deficits. Beginning tomorrow, CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf will appear before both House & Senate Budget Committees to detail the report findings.

    "Although the Administrations 2010 budget planned for an increase in U.S. service members in Afghanistan from 59,000 to 68,000, neither that budget nor CBOs projection anticipated the further increase of 30,000 troops in Afghanistan.
