Presented by http://collectSPACE.com -- The Source for Space History and Artifacts.

The STS-126 crew moved cargo from Endeavour to the International Space Station, including the Commercial Generic Bioprocessing Apparatus Science Insert-03 (CSI-03).

Designed to encourage learning and interest in science, technology, engineering and math among K-12 students, CSI-03 will examine the complete life cycle of painted lady butterflies, as well as the ability of orb-weaving spiders to spin a web, eat and remain healthy in space.

  • flying crotch at 3:39 XD

  • @GodofCider we should send the suicide bombers there

  • Wouldnt it be great if the butterfly came back to earth with super powers, abit like the fantastic 4 or Superman :-)

  • @finthallon Borderline suicide mission at this point; unfortunately.

  • @Ivanspaintingdotcom Not really, the real estimate is 6 months, but the real problems are radiation, the fact that the astronaut will have to stay on Mars for about 1 and a half year, and the risks of going there and eventually not being able to come back.

  • @finthallon The closest distance between Earth and mars is 34 million miles and a space craft traveling about 17,000 miles/hr takes 83 days to get to Mars. In reality the estimated time for reaching Mars is 5 months.
