The javelin today is the same weight - 800g. The centre of gravity of the javelin was moved further forward to make it land point first and not float as far in the air.

Florence Griffith-Joyner 1988 (100m, 10,49 sec., world record) without drugs? Mike Powell 1991 (Jumping, 8,95m, world record) without drugs? 50% all record comes from the 80s an the beginn from the 90s. hello??? east-germany??? yes, and usa, and canada, and, and, and...!!!

I wonder if we will ever see longer than that ever again.

@piepackage2 I"m not talking about the 4 in white, I"m talking about the ones dressed in dark colors approaching from the benches with little roof

@1488slavUm.. those absolute idiots are measuring the throw and confirming the distance.
-
what exactly is the point of those idiots in the track suits approaching at 0:20
-
@Tubeamp2 They also banned one type off javelin where there was something weird in the back...
East Germany at this time had a bad drug reputation, is this correct?

@soulrebelggg You are right and wrong at the same time. Javelin is still 800g as earlier, they changed only the center of gravity. But yes, Zelezny has the new model official world record.
