Anubis is the god who judges your soul by weighing it against the feather of Ma'at, and if you were a bad person, you would be punished, so shouldn't a statue of this god discourage people from committing crimes?

I saw this and got a picture of it when the exhibition was on at the Millenium Dome at London back in 2008. Kinda Groovy.

And, Ana-bis (or however that newsreader pronounces his name) just sounds silly - it's '[a-new-bis'. He was the god of the dead, but was sort of demoted to of funerary practice/mummification, when Orisis took his place.
