Orthodoxy places us, in prayer, within the time of the Scriptural event. Christ as God-Man, acts as God (eternally) as well as Man (in human time). By Faith, we may "enter in" and live within the event itself: thus the hymns begin with "Today Christ is Born.." The eighth day has dawned with His Resurrection. Christian History (along with National history) has the key to many questions about His Church as the apostles and disciples lived Christ's Life in their own.
