This is Tokyo on the 24th of June, 6 AM. After watching the match being won by Japan in Roppongi 'Legends' bar, I saw something I never imagined I would witness in my whole life. Me and my friends were flabbergasted. Part #2 at Shibuya square (Japan's busiest intersection) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nm9NmCyd65I

-------------------------------------------------------------------
See the Japanese public go frenzy after their national team has won the world cup soccer game against Denmark. Every time the traffic light turns green for cars, they politely go back to the pavement, but once the traffic light turns red, they make a run for the center spot on the road crossing. Highly unusual to see them so publicly emotional.

  • In Japan, this act may not called "polite", but I sure this is most "polite" soccer celebrating on planet.

  • this arent hooligans

  • @HiTEqMETHOD This video is such rare footage, exactly because of strict public protocol and ettiquette.

  • @HiTEqMETHOD I completely agree with you.

  • @52ppon

yeah but the japanese standard for public behavior is extremely conservative, these guys may be hooligans in japan, but if this happened almost anywhere else in the world it wouldn't be impolite. it'd just be people having fun after their team won. japan can be a bit of a downer at times.

  • @HiTEqMETHOD actually if you read the japanese text, they are apparently the japanese equivalent of hooligans, "bad manners and definitely not polite."
