@kingocarina Than what would they hit? And this is not Longsword style, Shield and sword makes it a little more tactical, meaning you have to make false attacks to create openings in you oponents, either way these are just amateurs so...

@kingocarina its reinactment there not supposed to hit eachother trying to hit the shield allows them to swing harder if it were a actuall sparring match you would see more leg strikes and facial protection for rap around striked around and over the shield these shields are not as big as theyre supposed to b just basic reinactment stuff

I know they're "play fighting"... but do they not understand that you're not supposed to try and hit the opponents sword and shield?

@nordsthorm lastly, "Modern viking-age-reenactment in central and eastern Europe" holds no authority as a statement by itself. I've seen some videos of some reenactment groups from that area that are fantastic but still doesn't mean they are right nor does it give you the right to rip on these guys because they are doing the same thing. Viking fighting styles ave not been preserved therefor nothing is provable as right, so put away your conceit and look with unbiased eyes.
