In this video you're going to learn about the basics of beat displacement. How to use them with a band a bunch of variations and fill considerations and a practice method you may not have thought about!
The drumset in this video is : Sonor SQ2 Beech Vintage, Makassar Ebony with SQ2 Birch Thin snares.

If the kick drum pattern isn't random, but goes with the guitar riff, then when you displace the beat with the snare, you shuold obviously keep the kick in the same place it was.

@aaronedgardrum yeah the sq2's are probably the best sounding drums ever(otherwise gavin harrisson probably wouldn't play them)...that's a good reason to get a tattoo like that xD

love your teaching, your playing, your dennis chambers like tom setup, and (i guess it'd be gay to say i love it) i like your sonor tattoo as well...pretty cool idea to endorse something :D

@c0d3x001 Thanks a lot, man! To be clear on that tattoo, I've been endorsed by Sonor since 2007 and I got the tattoo in 2009 :P It was the direct result of me getting my beech heavy SQ2 kit (hasn't been in videos yet). It sounded so incredible I was speechless. I decided the only way to cope with what I was hearing was to tattoo the logo badge on my neck!

@Styxdrumcovers I wasn't planning on doing any marching, but I won't rule it out! My goal was to have my channel, at least for the six months be pretty much entirely on odd rhythmic stuff!
