Hi, I'm Brendan Shanahan from the NHL dept. of player safety. On Jan 28, 1989, in Boston, an incident occurred between the Bruins and the Jets. A Boston referee was assessed with a major penalty, and game misconduct for an illegal hit on Bruins fan, Frank Barbaro. As the video shows, the ref skates towards Barbaro, and delivers a check while Barbaro is in a vulnerable position. This is a violation of rule 41: Boarding. The dept. of player safety has decided to suspend the ref for 5 games.

Ronnie used to be a Ref in the old WHA but was assaulted by Gordie Howe, when he came back he decided to be a linseman!!! Gordie Howe was a complete moron and probably the least intelligent man ever to play the game, when he was "supposedly" the best player in hockey he was the 6 highest paid player in HIS team (redwings) and did not know what he should do about it....MORON!!!!!!
