Acid-Base Indicators

We are looking at the following acid-base indicators: methyl orange, methyl red, bromothymol blue, litmus, phenolphthalein and indigo carmine. Consider that these indicators all have their effective pH range at which they turn colours.

Hydrion paper is not litmus. It's paper coated with universal indicator.

I chose it from a list they gave us at school - Which type of flower petals has the best acid/base indicator.

The colour from the flowers just disapeared and didn't go intot the water. Is this because you can't do it at all or I don't have a good ratio of number of petals : amount of water.

PLEASE HELP!

do you know how to get the colour out of the petals?

what are the numbers for each colour on your pH chart?
