We are looking at the following acid-base indicators: methyl orange, methyl red, bromothymol blue, litmus, phenolphthalein and indigo carmine. Consider that these indicators all have their effective pH range at which they turn colours.

  • What was the reason for performing the phenolphthalein indicator test on the distilled water?

  • Hydrion paper is not litmus. It's paper coated with universal indicator.

  • I chose it from a list they gave us at school - Which type of flower petals has the best acid/base indicator.

The colour from the flowers just disapeared and didn't go intot the water. Is this because you can't do it at all or I don't have a good ratio of number of petals : amount of water.

    PLEASE HELP!

do you know how to get the colour out of the petals?

what are the numbers for each colour on your pH chart?

  • we did this experiement in science :D
