  • And with Carson's word, her non-science ban killed 40 million Africans.

  • "Rachel Carson kills 40 million Africans". Bullshit. She was opting for a more moderate use of pesticides which people like you think uncritically as miraculous substances just like people uncritically applaud nano-technique and gene-alteration. And for your information, DDT kills not only insects but also humans. People live where there is malaria and you want to kill the mosqitos. People live where there are tornados as well; you want to alter the weather, too?

  • In India it's a common chemical. We've banned the use of it in the U.S because

of Carson but never stopped exporting it around the world.

  • Is she still alive? She should be brought to Haag for trial and sentencing.

  • "...her non-science ban killed 40 million Africans"

    Wrong--Probably 80 million

And, remember, "this" is the kind of "Science" that is being used on all of us through imbecilic projects and the use of Vaccinations, which use

Monkey Kidneys for the Host tissues to grow the vaccinations

A perfect example is the Salk Vacciine between the years 1958 and 1962

    and Saben's Vaccine-

All use Monkey Kidneys and Guess what compound is used to retard the metabolism of the Vaccine? Mercury!

I don't mean to say that all chemicals are not dangerous--but many of our fears about chemicals do not correlate with their actual rates of death, sickness caused etc. Often we are fine with dangerous chemicals that have gotten no bad press and inordinately fear chemicals that have had books and exposés written about them.

  • @percivallll

Rachel Carson was not about science, she was about journalism. Journalism will always appeal to fear because humans (like all animals) are born with an instinct to seek out danger before it seek them out. Journalist provide this "danger" to the public in a ready-packaged format.

  • @sopranosong

Google "J. Gordon Edwards" He was a scientist who would eat DDT by the spoonful to prove it was not harmful to humans. It is mankind's genetic code to fear liquids with strange odors, as this protected our ancestors from poisoning. It is this physiologically motivated fear that drives the push to ban chemicals, not any documented evidence of it's dangers.

  • you should get your facts straight...she was not against spraying pesticides...she advocated for spraying pesticides in moderation because the way DDT was used was unsafe. It was killing not only insects, but birds and people.
