IN HIS EARLY DECCA DAYS SAMMY HAD A FEW GREAT HITS AND THEY ARE SOME OF MY VERY FAVORITES. I HAVE A HAND FULL OF THE GREAT SWINGER THAT I LOVE TO LISTEN TO A LOT. SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE, BIRTH OF THE BLUES(1955), LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME AND THAT OLD BLACK MAGIC. THESE SONGS JUST ROCK THE STEREO. AT THE TIME OF HIS RECORDING THESE SONG THEY WERE VERY FRESH IN FOLKS MIND BUT SY OLIVER, MORTY STEVENS AND SAMMY COME UP WITH A SOUND THE WAS PERFECT FOR SAM TO MAKE HITS OUT OF THESE SONG. HEY THERE WAS A BIG HIT FOR SAM BUT THE THREE I AM TALKING ABOUT REACHED HIGHER ON THE CHARTS THEN HEY THERE. THEY THESE RECORS HAVE A SOUND THAT MAKES YOU THINK OF WHAT ROCK N ROLL BIG BAND WOULD HAVE SOUNDED LIKE. SAMMY WAS A BETTER SWINGER THEN ALL THE SINGER THE RHYTHM WAS IN HIM AND IT REALLY CAME OUT IN THOSES RECORDS
