Hey guys, pretty much self-explanatory. If you have any questions or comments, post them below!

360 Freestyle Competition Guidelines:

1. I, charlez360, have posted an mp3 song available for free download on mediafire.com. The download link is here: http://www.mediafire.com/?nyibo9bcnc78qpq Your interval of playing will be from (roughly) 0:20 to 0:58. When you record, make sure you are only recording your saxophone audio, and then later combine the saxophone with the instrumental song. Make sure the audio tracks are separate! This is crucial!

2. After you have recorded your freestyle on that song, post a video with your recording mixed with the instrumental on the official charlez360 Facebook page. The name of your video will be "Charlez360 Freestyle Competition -- [Your Name] -- [Which type saxophone you are playing on]." So, for example, if I were to submit a video, it would be titled, "Charlez360 Freestyle Competition -- Charlie Lamprecht -- Tenor Saxophone." Visually, your video must not include you playing, it can simply be a photo slideshow if you like, but it must include your song on the track. You will have two (2) weeks to record. YOUTUBE, YOU CAN POST A VIDEO RESPONSE TO THIS VIDEO TO SUBMIT!

3. After the two week period of uploading ends, the second stage begins. All of the fans (including myself) will watch all of the videos on the Facebook page, and judge which one we like best.

4. The rules for judging: You should watch all of the freestyle videos that have been posted, and only comment on the video you like the best. I would like to avoid negativity or destructive commentary, so you will only comment on the video you like the best, not the one(s) you think "suck" or are "just terrible." This is considered your vote. "Likes" do not count, only comments! If you have submitted a video to the freestyle competition, you may not vote at all. For everyone else, you will have two (2) weeks to judge.

5. After the judging period ends, I will cast my own vote, and decide which two saxophone players have won the competition based on their number of votes, and my own personal opinion.

6. The winners will then be announced, and contacted by me. I will then ask you two (2) things. (1) To send me your saxophone audio clips, and (2) whether you would like me to produce/edit your saxophone sound, or if you would like to do it yourself. The benefit of having me do it, is that I probably have more experience with editing tracks, and can produce a good, healthy sound. The benefit of you doing it yourself is that you have the complete freedom to add whatever effects you want. It's your choice!

7. Finally, I will produce and arrange the finalized song that will feature the two winners of the Charlez360 Freestyle Competition, and myself. The song will be available for free mp3 download on the Facebook and YouTube pages!

  • You went to north meck? They have a good marching band. I think I saw them at bandbeat

  • I love your videos I started playing tenor last weekend I'm in 6th grade and it inspired me to start playing thank you so much!!

  • what bot baritone or tuba

  • When is another Competition???????????????? You should do another one

  • I just want to say: I noticed especially around 4:55 of your video that you were saying "him" "he" "guy" a bunch, assuming that whoever you were judging was a male. I didn't take extreme offense to this, but it kind of irked me. I'M A GIRL, but I play alto sax (fairly decent as well)! So maybe for future reference in other competitions try not to add a gender specific connotation to things :P

  • When will this start next year?

  • When does this end charlez?
