@JinMAA you are a goddamn moron if you even compare Delver to Misstep, Jace, or Snapcaster.
-
@JinMAA While i do agree that Jace dominated standard, and Misstep made my legacy decks much worse for a while, delver is powerful, but not crazy, and snapcaster is just fun. both are used all the way back to legacy now, but they don't dominate it at all. if anything, they just add variety.
-
Did you actually fucking listen? He said it was too powerful when it flipped on creatures and so they changed it.
How many snapcaster decks went undefeated on day one of Worlds?
What impact did misstep have on standard (Forsythe admitted a long time ago they hardly spend any time on Legacy)?

So the decided that giving Blue a 3/2 flyer for 1 mana was a bad idea. And then printed it anyway. Seriously, when will they learn to stop printing ridiculous overpowered Blue cards!? Jace, Misstep, Snapcaster, Delver. That's 3 blocks in a row and they keep making the same mistake every block.

3 people were beaten by invisible stalker with butchers cleaver on it

@none02910 There were a lot of way to deal with Stoneforge Mystic in standard. Still, no one was playing Shatter or Despise. Just because there is a countercard, it doesn't mean things are balanced. Chalice of the Void was supposedly in Mental Misstep-flooded Legacy, and still didn't cut it.
Anyway, my point was that Snapcaster Mage had no business being blue.

@brunovitsantos there are alot of ways to deal with "snapcaster" in either classic or vintage,what does snapcaster depend on? The graveyard,simply play Leyline of the void and thus the spells are no longer usefull,just a one shot deal and then "poof".
-
No one cares to explain why Snapcaster Mage was printed Blue. Except from being overpowered, and being Tiago (who has a major crush on Blue) there is very little in the card to justify that choice. Graveyards are Green and Black. Giving Flashback to stuff is usually Red.
It would be lovely if they just stopped creating crazy powerful Blue cards to impact Eternal formats. Both of them are as Blue as possible. Still we keep geting Mental Missteps, Snapcaster Mages, Delvers of Secrets and such.
@mtgrichie88 I care.

This was great, lucid interview. It'd be nice to see Eric in interviews more often! He's not as flashy as some other WotC employees, but I definitely find him more interesting.
