With Honors

Soldiers of the Oregon Army National Guard, Military Funeral Honors team at Willamette National Cemetery are combat veterans whose new mission is to honor veterans. "Receiving military funeral honors, having your body carried by combat veterans, the rifle salute and taps, that's your rite of passage into Willamette; that every soldier, whatever branch, will be honored before they're laid to rest," says Staff Sgt. Thanks to all members of the many Honor Guard Teams across the country. This honorable duty means so very much to the family members who are left behind. I just had these honors performed for my father 12 years after his death. I am so grateful for the men and women like yourself. I commend you all.
