This Deepwater Horizon oil spill trajectory forecast is based on the West Florida Shelf ROMS and is a joint effort of the Ocean Circulation Group and the Optical Oceanography Laboratory at College of Marine Science, University of South Florida.

The uncontrolled oil spill is speeding along the Loop Current towards the Florida Keys, according to experts at the Tampa-area University.

    Anyone who calls the world's largest oil disaster a leak, needs to reevaluate one's standards of measurement, if not one's rationality.
