@cathaldotcom i ment "have favorites" as in a movement you enjoy doing the most. In the context you are talking about, you are right. there's no one technique to solve all problems...accept maybe the good ol "hit em in the face the first and the hardest and keep hitting until they buckle" technique.
@SenseiKuma You cannot have favorites because, some Katas come into certain situations others would not work in that situation. For example Sometimes Fu no Kata will not work and you might have to do Chi no Kata and Vice Versa.
You can have favorites! Why not? The key is just not letting anyone know what it is. The reason I do this technique with a low kick is because often times there simply isn't enough room or time to lift your leg that high. There is also the risk of comprimising your balance, thus comprimising your center. Nothing is written in stone though, which is probably why so many people do it with so many different targets. Every situation is going to be unique.
I like your videos. Ku had always been my favorite form though (I know I shouldnt have favorites but oh well) mainly because I have always had an abnormaly powerful heel stomp kick. I bring it staight to the chest in this form though I have seen it done to many targets in this form.
