I had a question about the adapter I showed in one of my videos so I'll try to answer it here.
I also had a question on manual focusing so I'll try to include that also, I wish I was more of a expert on this stuff but if what little bit of info I have to offer helps someone then Im happy.
Ive had this camera for 4 days and am having a blast with it.
Also I shot this video with a sony bloggie touch to test the bloggie's quality on youtube.

  • The lens adapter only says "Nikon G - NEX" there is no name brand on it. if you search ebay search Sony NEX nikon adapter and they pop up, you can add the letter G in the search for the G lens if thet is the lens you have to narrow the search

  • Hi thanks for the helpful video! and hey, just to clarify.. you are using the 14.2mp version of NEX5, and not the NEX-5N right? So you must be using the firmware ver 4, to have the peaking feature? I am about to buy this camera but just to be on the safe side, I want to know whether updating to ver 4 will still have the ver 3 feature of aperture control? (I guess it will be there since you use it in your video) I hope you can clear my doubts, thank you very much!

  • @teja89max On the sony nex-5 you can control the aperture for pictures but video you cant, it basically is on auto during video. The nex-5n and nex-7 they say it has video control like the panasonic gh2 (I think thats the one they compared it to) but the nex-5 old and new firmware wont control the aperture during filming, it just jumps to auto so controlling depth of field is hard. I suggest getting the nex-5N if you have not purchased one yet, its much better

  • @eviltig Oh thank you very much! But I will mostly be using MANUAL only lenses since I need it only for professional work :) just like you do in this video.. So I wouldn't need any kind of autofocus lenses.. So I can just use the old NEX-5 with old lenses managing the aperture and focus by rings on the lens right? I am on a very limited budget so shall I go with the old NEX5?

  • @teja89max If you use manual lenses it will work fine then. Thats what i do and Im getting great results and very happy with it.

  • What is the model# of the Len adapter that you used for the Len or manufactor?

  • @eviltig Great! Thanks for your assurance.. I will go with NEX-5 and all those old classics out there!

  • @oxtherunt Glad I could be of some help to you.

  • @eviltig Thanks mate, that'll come in handy when I make the purchase this weekend!
