Yes everybody should take a cut except the pilots and mechanics. Your pilot hero worship is pathetic. Why don't you go out and throw peanuts at people. Serving them at their every whim and want. I bet you couldn't cut it as a pilot, all talk no balls.

CEO of airline letting out the details of their security arrangements - ain't that a sacking offence?

what a bullshit story. airlines cook the books to make it seem like they don't make money while paying ceo's way more money than they deserve & underpaying the people who deserve the most of the pay the pilot & the mechanix. anybody can throw peanuts @ people.

True but you rarely hear of companies cutting costs at the top of the payscale.

Companies have to cut costs.......

Let's get a tape recording of Crandall saying "we need to cut cost" and fire his ass. That ought to save a several million right there.

Night watchman loses his job and can't feed his family. Guard dog doesn't get fed then loses his job. CEO laughs about and sits back and counts his money. Disgusting excuse for humanity.

Bob Crandall is a maverik. He was known for being tough, but he was also fair. Furthermore, when the airlines were deregulated in 1978, American was not in a very health state, but he transformed it into the largest, most feared airline in the U.S. through the 1990's. When computer reservations were introduced, they were used to just keep track of the day to day details of running the airline, but Crandall turned AMR's saber into a weapon by introducing a FF program, leaving the others behind.
