Ok guys, it has been weeks since I did the overview of the workstation build for my client in Texas. And yes, as you can tell, I haven't completed the build. It turns out that the RevoDrive X2 is really bleeding edge technology that obviously has some flaws. I cannot recommend it to anyone unless they are an enthusiast that enjoys messing with the problems that come with that type of 'new' tech.

I was able to get the RevoDrive X2 to be the boot drive with the EVGA SR-2 motherboard with a lot of work, and just when I thought that I had beaten it, it through me a loop and now I have to RMA the device. Please watch the video and let me know what you think.

Also, I have the video completed that goes over the build which is really good. That video will be posted soon.

Enjoy!

  • Evga needs to update bios for the SR-2, is like 7months old that they did bios update.

I have Sr-2 and RevodriveX2 960Gb also, and have the same problem as you, while revodriveX2 960Gb is 100% correct and no RMA

  • @BabySkylineS14 I was eventually able to get the RevoDrive X2 to work. It requires some settings to be changed and a process by which to install the OS. PM me if you want the details. Thanks.

  • I think it would be best to install windows on q traditional HDD and then copy the installation onto the REVOdrive.

  • @hsew I have tried that with some issues...it's the closest I've gotten so far though. Good idea.

  • Not fast Oo

  • Glad to see you have an SR-2. I've got one as well if you want to check out my videos (like that monitor in the background as well ;) ). Had a question about using the RevoDrive 3 X2 as just a normal storage device? I'm planning on throwing in a few of these for some database testing needs at home. Thanks!

  • soo you are saying that

to buying EVGA sr2 is just the wast of monney???

    and it is tottaly fail???

  • I am booting off of a 240GB RevoDrive 3 X2, and it seems VERY stable by itself. The second I installed a second drive, the 480GB version X2, I get all kinds of errors durring boot, and then a BSOD, and the computer automatically restarts the process all ov er again. I've tried every PCIe slot configuration, I guess it just depends on your system.

  • the windows boot up time is strangely slow !! I've seen it in another video loading windows 7 64bit in just 9 seconds (after Bios post) ..and it was on a non-workstation motherboard. this one is as slow as a SATA II SSD

  • @Trubyd44 I love dose Videos with OCZ Drive, most when people install on a 32bit OS lol

  • ive installed 2 of them an x2 and revo3 with no probs u dont need to set bios to raid at windows install advanced load driver bam works only prob ive had is useing two of them in the same pc one for os other 4 storage

  • Installation on any SSD must be done without other bootable removable drives present. Disconnect ALL other drives, do your install on the Revo x2 and then reconnect the other drives and it should work. You may also have a conflict with a 2nd RAID array on the system. At any rate, some OS files were placed on the wrong drive, and this caused your problem.

  • IF YOU TURN off the boot logo animation it will boot wicked FAST!
