@bluejaywaay … LOL… I was actually thinking the same thing. But this guy actually had the goods because Andrés Segovia made him his assistant instructor. Also, Joaquín Rodrigo who wrote notable works specifically for Segovia wrote & dedicated this piece for Alirio Díaz.

@Hektor88 Don't take me wrong Hector. I feel lucky this is not a masterclass with you since i have no need to go there either. You have a point with the first 2 lines and it doestn feel offensive of course. but Master Diaz when through a lot his whole life and career wich doesnt gives the right to make comparisons or mean comments coming from you or anyone else. But thanks for the comments anyway, yet narrowed still refreshes the reasons why i've started to play this instrument. Have a nice day.

@Freddythemonk I agree he could have just been having a bad day. I was not criticizing Diaz as a player, simply this performance.
And yes, I AM entitled to criticize someone's playing, no matter who it is. We all are. That's how we get better. This isn't a masterclass or anything so I felt no need to detail things or be especially "constructive."
Good day.

@Wheresmyaccount as i said before , even the best have terrible days. this may be alirio`s one without a doubt thats not the question...the real thing here is we are no match to dare criticize a person like him, he is a master and a very humble one...no wonder why rodrigo himself dedicated this piece to him. regards
-
@Freddythemonk if you like this, then by all means, keep on liking it. Maybe there's a Cathedrale version of 2 minutes or an Asturias version of 15 seconds for you on youtube as well
-
@Freddythemonk I don't really understand what you're saying here, but seriously, he's just shredding the piece. He uses it to showcase his virtuosity whilst ignoring every pause or resting point, no, just about everything this piece has to offer musically. And as a matter of fact I have attempted to study the piece, and it's by far not enough to be posted on youtube but I am absolutely serious when I say my technically flawed version with mistakes of more interesting then Diaz just rushing it

@Hektor88 mmm...you`re not convincing Hector my good fella. is a silly thing (i mean just wrong!) even thinking about feeling "perfectly entitled" to criticize the performances, career or the influence of someone like Master Diaz... even the best had strange days . No wonder why your comments out of nowhere.
Criticism must be something encouraging and constructive, with sense.... perhaps your "perfect entitlement" were forged for something else. Who you think you are man? Land it!
Amazing performance!! Bravo Maestro.

Bravo MAESTRO
