Yulanda Williams was 12 when she began attending Peoples Temple services in San Francisco. In 1977, Rev. Jim Jones, founder of Peoples Temple, called Williams to his compound in Guyana, where more than 900 people died in a murder, suicide. (Nov. 17)

I don't think they were nut jobs most of them. I think they really thought they were doing some good and trying to make a better world for themselves. It started out good, but ended badly. If anything, people can be guilty of naivety and ignorance and that is hard to blame people for. And there's denial too - like getting into a bad relationship that seemed all good and then not being able to get out due to wanting to still see the good. Not easy. And then being brainwashed...

@vperry999 Even on the "death tape", there are screams of horror, crying, chaos. Nobody wanted to die willingly.

@GeorgeNada1 Oh, they didn't willingly kill themselves. In pictures, have you seen all the syringes? These were for the majority that didn't wish to die. They were held down and injected. Armed guards lining the pavilion, nowhere to go.

@Somnilocus After the FOIA files were released, it was also found that there was a high probability of everyone being drugged as well.  People were held down and injected that didn't want to die. Babies torn from mother's arms. It was murder.

That's exactly what smoking ice will do to you! Jim Jones was on that raw ice...the most expensive kind. Made him think he was in show business; making movies!
