Spent some time on the Outer Banks last September with my brother, his wife and her family. A few days into our vacation some disturbed weather formed off of Georgia and threatened us with high winds and heavy rain. It didn't become a tropical storm, but winds did gust into the high 50-mph range at the storm's height. This video was taken a few hours before the heavy weather hit; winds at this point were directly onshore and were gusting into the mid to high 40's. Having sand blasting into your face is not fun! Lots of transformers were blowing up that night but miraculously we didn't lose power. The next morning saw lots of broken wooden walkways strewn all over the beach and part of a shipwreck washed up a few hundred yards south of "our" beach!
