When the anthem is sung like that, the singer is putting themselves before the country and the meaning of the song. You're supposed to sing it with respect and humility and not like you're fucking Pavarotti at the Met.

That was a nasty rendition of our National Anthem.  Sing it right, or dont sing it at all, ESPECIALLY if the rendition includes all the screechin'. Not only nasty, but disrespectful.
