First night out with the new combo. 11.5 to 1 solid rolller 408 windsor, tuned with a quarterhorse chip on stock computer. Car has a T56 tranny, with all road race suspension so it did not 60 foot very well with the 28x9s.

  • Can you run pump gas with this engine? I have a 393 going in my notch that should be around 11.4 to 1 compression. The cam is a Comp cam XR292R, .621 intake, .627 exhaust, duration is 254 int. 260 exh. lobe sep. 110 deg. centerline 106 deg. Its a solid roller

  • @fastblknotch Hey, yes I had no problem running 94 octane in this engine. Your combo sounds almost identical to mine so I would imagine yours would be OK as well!

  • Thanks! It's actually a Ford Racing T56. The ratios are

    1st 2.97, 2nd 2.07, 3rd 1.43, 4th 1.00, 5th .80, 6th .62

I prefer the ratios on this one because of exactly what you said. The shift from 4th to 5th is too much of a difference on most trannies, but on this it's amazing and the car is right back in the powerband with the .80 5th. Hope this helps!

  • What T56 setup are you running, do you know the ratios off hand? I'm thinking about adding a T56 to myFox Body coupe and want more of a road-race style trans with tighter gear ratios. I'm ok with a steep first since I won't be dragging it much, I just want the gears to be stacked to help keep my Paxton charged 331 up in the powerband once rolling.

    BTW, nice Coupe!

  • @bbsombs the car was never dynoed, but I figure it was making around 530-550ish given the trap speed and weight of the car.

  • late on the tree and still beat up on him! i wanted this kind of set up for my fox forever!! thumb's up!!!

  • How many street miles does it see on the solid cam? What lifters you running? I was thinking of going solid on my stang but I get stuck in traffic every once and a while so I'm concerned about longevity.

  • your r/t will greatly improve if you launch on the last amber light.

  • whats kind of h/c/i did you have?

  • what type of intake do you have?
