Matt Marcotte was a 22-year-old law student from New York City who appeared on Millionaire on November 20, 1999, the night after John Carpenter won $1,000,000. Most notably from this, Matt's phone-a-friend that he used on his run was Steve Perry, who would win $500,000 on WWTBAM in April of 2001. Matt called Steve for help on his $250,000 question and Steve came through for his friend.

This is part 1 of his run from his $100 question to his $1,000 question.

Also, am I the only one that thinks these questions in the early Millionaire days are easier than the ones you see on the syndicated version with Meredith Vieira? Matt's stack was quite easy and I knew the answers to all 13 of his questions. Nowadays, a $250,000 win on the syndie Millionaire is tough to come by. But it's probably just me...oh well... *shrugs shoulders*

  • @prid92 I knew this schmuck awhile back from a game called Virtual Producer. It was a game where you write and pretend to make movies and cast and everything. It was like fantasy football but for Hollywood. I was sixteen at the time. This guy was the biggest asshole in the chat room. He thought he was so cool for being on this show. Look at him. A big fat motherfucker that sounds like a woman.

  • "So you're single"?.....

  • 1:19 he said : motherfuck?

  • I think this guy may have been the inspiration for "Slumdog Millionare" because he gives a little annecdote for each answer, hahaha.

  • Man what a total tool.......... Please shot him, I beg of you!

  • I agree too
