Many people have anxieties regarding speaking in public. Here are some hints on how you can overcome the fear of giving speeches.

The #1 hint is to realize the speech is not about you. All presentations are about your audience. It's about what they take away. You are there to help them, educate them, entertain them. When you become Other-Focused, it is easier to overcome self doubts and feel better about standing in front of an audience to speak.

#2: Use visual aids... good visual aids. That gives the audience something to look at besides your face.

#3: Speak more loudly than you would if you were not giving a speech. That takes away any quivers in your voice that you experience if you are afraid of speaking.

#4: Ask the audience questions. By making your presentation interactive, it becomes more of a discussion, something you're used to doing, rather than a performance of a speech.

#5: Realize that you are the expert. That's why you've been asked to give the presentation in the first place.
