  • I have a question, I'm currently a student at the art Institute in Miami and I was wondering what type of computer specs would you recommend? I'm actually majoring in visual effects because my dream is to be become a visual effects supervisor for ILM.

  • @yokamoney We don't put out specific recommendations but it's fair to say you should look into getting the best machine you can comfortably afford with enough drive space to store the types of material you'll be creating (footage, photos, textures, HD renders, etc.) and in visual effects more RAM is always better. Best of luck!

  • how did u made planet cybertron? its very huge(means billion of polygons),which program u used to made it,maya or zeno?

  • @Mohit97171 Zeno.

  • What did you use for smoke and shatter?

  • @ksafian ILM's proprietary Plume and Fracture respectively.

  • @KTKomedy2813 : But it Didn't :(

  • genius!

  • Thumbs up if you want Transformers 3 to win the Oscar for Best Visual Effects!

  • I really do wish you guys the best of luck with the Oscar awards. If anyone should win those awards, it's you guys at ILM.

  • @ILMVisualFX That sounds kind of funny. I'll explain myself.

Like saying: "Well, I'll use Zeno, because they made Transformers with it. Maya is just not good enough"

It's Zeno and an army of hard-working people + the supervisor's constant eyes and mind pushing that as far as he can for months, or even years.

Zeno system doesn't include amazingly designed robots, directing criteria, research or experience. That comes with people.

  • 5 people looked at the air conditioner

  • ILM, will you ever post a preview of Zeno, Plume or Fracture?

I bet most of users what to see the magic software in action.
