No ecological damage done those are farmed trees just a few years old and will immediately be replanted as soon as possible and the cycle will continue. No different than you picking tomatoes out of your garden.

Hey look how regular and even those trees are arranged. Those trees were planted to be cut down for paper. Then they will replant more. A tree farm.

We dont debark around here, it's done at the saw mill, along with the saw dust, it's made into granules...cheap and efficient heating.
The main advantage of this activity is that the acorns are seeded this way in a locale proven to be favorable for growth...old growth is extremely inefficient as the old tree fall over and dry rot, useful for nothing and wasting air and space for a century. Also all these harvesters have extremely wide footprint, not disturbing the soil.

ESTOY ENOJANA DE PONE MAL EL VIDEO POR QUE ELLOS QUE CORTAN LOS ARBLOES ELLO JAMAS BUELVEN A PLANTAR OTROS...
ME DA RABIA PENSAR EN QUE ES MAS IMPORTANTE PARA ELLOS EL DINERO Y NO SOLO EL ECHO DE RESPIRAR.
Hi everybody. I didn't make the video, so I can't comment on the music in it. Also, yes, it gives me shivers to watch it, too. But, I think that the commentary that this is used on tree farms is probably spot on. These trees certainly don't look like old growth. Yes, I'm eco-friendly. I was simply intrigued by the video, that's why I posted it.
Enjoy!
