First class doo-wop by the Biscaynes, 1960 on VPM. . Yep, didn't chart on Bill Board's 100.

Yellow Moon, Yellow moon-oon,-on. Yellow moon, shining down from above. Please let her know that I need her love. Hmmm yellow moon. I'm depending on you. To show me the way, the way to her heart. Hand in hand, we walk, beneath your golden light. She'll be my only love until, until, until the day I die. Yellow moon-onoon. Please please hear my plea. Your magic glow, can bring her to me.

"Hand in hand, we'll walk, beneath your golden light. She'll be my only love," until until until the day I die. Yellow moon, oon. Please hear my plea. Your magic glow, can bring her to me. Mm yellow moon. Mmmm yellow moon.

  • Hi Ezduf

Thank you for the kind words and how you like this catchy tune and doo wop harmonies. Yes, the Biscayne was Chevy's poor cousin to the Impala. Nope, you wouldn't have heard this played much on top 40 radio as it was only played for a couple of three weeks in 1960. My gosh, better than Blue Moon!!

  • This was big in the Bay Area. I always assumed it was a national hit. Now, let's slide the dial down to 1310...the Choice Voice of the Bay, home of Mr Don Barksdale and Rosko (E to the T) ...KDIA.

  • Hey srercrcr

Thanks for the Bay Area remembrance. Take a listen to another video I put on youtube by the Clovers, From the Bottom of my Heart.

  • I am married to Ria one of the singers in the Viscaynes. Ha Ha!!!

  • Whoa, too much. So was Sly Stone a member? Yes, the Viscaynes, how great of trivia. Hello Ria, how fun was it to sing on this record that is still appreciated all these years later?

  • I remember this great song was played breifly on San Francisco`s KEWB in 1961. Are u the Alleycool from Ronn Owens rock trivia?

  • Hello xyz, Yes, I am the Allycool from Ronn Owens Rock Trivia. How nice of you to recall and answer. Sorry for the late response, I just read these now. So which of the 12 were you?

  • I should remember this jam: I lived in Walnut Creek back then. One of the Bay Area hits thatI don't remember .

  • The Biscaynes, a make of Chevrolet back in the doowop era, anyway another sender calls 'em the Viscaynes (IT'S WRONG)...I saw the label you were showing and they are the Biscaynes. Anyway I've listened to this Yellow Moon for a 4th time & enjoyed 'em all. I never heard this recording back when when Jan & Dean and Frankie Avalon were being spun but I assure you that I really like this Yellow Moon...bettr than the Marcel's "Blue Moon"!!Yep. It's a love song that compares to Please Mr Sun.THX

  • Now I know why it Did not chart on bill board's 100

  • The Viscayens did also tracks called Heavenly Angel, yellow moon and Stop What you are doing. They are also doing the backing vocals for the track Jasper Woods - Hully Gully Papa

  • This track was recorded in 1961 and the group was indeed The Viscaynes. There are 2 version of the recording. One was recorded in the bayarea and the second version was doen at George Motola studio in LA. Its SLy doing the lead but the did something to his voice. Thats why he sounds is diff.
