I still do not get the point in this at all, and i personally do not belive this has anything to do with hypnosis.
usually when the body panics your heart is sent racing, Maybe i will ask around and see if i can find the answer to this because i just do not get the point anyways, and a lot of holding breath is the ability to draw out the distraction of your body wanting oxygen even though you can hold on a lot longer without.

i think this is bs because i know nothing about self suggestion hypnosis and i took my heart rate and it was 75 and as soon as i take a big breath and hold it in it dropped to 53. I think if you are holding your breath its your body natural defense to drop your heart rate down so you can survive longer without air, unless of course your running or swimming really hard while holding your breath.

Actually, it takes time for your body to kick in the reflex that slows your heart. Beginning of bloodshift if im correct. Thats why I tried this test. Before I used hypnotic suggestion, it only kicked in to slow my heart after a few minutes of breath-ups. Of course if your reflex kicked in easily, you would have the same effects, but its difficult for others who are custom to holding their breath. A beginner will have a slower heart rate because they arent used to holding their breath

This is because their body isn't used to it so the body panicks and slow the heart sooner. I myself have to be in cold water, under pressure, and have done a few 2 or 3 minute holds before mine kicks in. The hypnosis could in theory really work for someone, perhaps I should look more into it, no one has shown much interest, but who knows, maybe im onto something;)

im only at 3 minutes, i dont get much time to practice lately....i'm hoping to hit 4 minutes soon and 5 is my ultimate goal., but i need to practice more.
