Robert Cowan writes in Gramophone January 2009:
Munch's Kingsway Hall and Walthamstow recordings with the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra for Decca are high on energy, especially Beethoven's Eighth and Mendelssoim's Reformation Symphonies, though the two Ravel Daphnis et Chloe' suites lack subtlety. I like Beulah's clean, no-nonsense transfers (by Barry Coward) and Nick Morgan provides excellent notes.
Robert Matthew Walker writes in "International Record Review" March 2009:
" The tone on theses 78s is at times very impressive. "
...near matchless...I still have the Toscanini version on Red Seal I inherited in 1962...this is my absolute favorite, even with worse sonics than the Munch version....

@valdengo1 From around 1944 until 1949 Decca were ahead of other record companies in the quality of their recordings. This recording was made by Kenneth Wilkinson who in the 60s made recordings for RCA in London. Pity he did not record Toscanini.
